So today the weather is truly horrible here in Liverpool and all I have to look forward to is Monday morning! How sad is that?! Never mind, before I start my Sunday dinner preparation, I want to talk a little about good old monochrome in interiors. As a fully fledged lover of all things colourful and vibrant, you could be forgiven for thinking that I don't really embrace black and white. However it's really beige that's not for me.

In these shots it's clear that the black and white is splashed with a little colour. This way of working with monochrome manages to retain a sense of neutrality, but the injection of cheeky colours lifts it from bland to brave - particularly if you choose strong colours like reds and yellows.

This wallpaper is not for the faint hearted, but used on one wall only, it creates interest without artwork and can sit happily with pop-style artwork and classical pieces.

Positve colours really sing against white or brown.

Technology always stays up to date looking on a stark background - even when it isn't!
And traditional , metallics, contrasted with simple 3D , such as this framed light bulb, can inspire in more ways than one!xx
